Frequently asked questions

Plain answers to the questions that matter most.

What is diminished value?+

The reduction in a vehicle’s market value caused by its accident history, even after proper repairs. Buyers and dealers may pay less for a previously damaged vehicle than for an otherwise comparable vehicle with no loss history.

Is diminished value the same as repair cost?+

No. Repair cost measures the work needed to restore physical damage. Diminished value measures a separate economic effect in the resale and trade market.

What documents should I preserve?+

Keep the insurer estimate, supplements, final repair invoice, photographs, police report, valuation reports, claim correspondence, proof of ownership, mileage, and any vehicle-history records.

Can DValue360 guarantee payment?+

No. Every claim depends on its facts, evidence, policy, jurisdiction, liability, and decision-maker. We provide independent analysis and claim support; acceptance and recovery are never guaranteed.

When should I request a review?+

As early as possible after repairs are complete or a total-loss valuation is issued. Early organization helps preserve documents, deadlines, and evidence.
